I've seriously neglected this blog and let 5 months go by without a notice. Its Christmas now, well the end of Christmas (nearing New Year's), and I just want to wish all my friends and loved ones a Merry Christmas and Happy New Years. Since last posting so much has happened. My dad was able to come over for a visit and JP went back with him, I was able to get a new job, my love went to Canada for six months to work, and Lani has remained the same height but her feet have grown.

I took a spill off a scooter the other night because the accelerator wasn't working properly so I crashed into a car. I got a big, nasty scrape on my face. It looks pretty bad so I don't think I'll be showing my face in public anytime soon. Life just gets better and better! Ha! Oh well, I'm not bemoaning my fate...it was pretty stupid to just go careening off at night on a scooter so it was inevitability. I just hope there won't be a scar as its quite big, covering half of my cheek.

The unthinkable happened. I CUT MY HAIR!--and not just any cut mind you, a very short, boyish cut. I think it's rather cute and stylish. My friends say I look so much younger and I don't know if I should take that as a compliment cause I never thought I looked THAT old, I mean I'm only 24. How much younger could I look? How do you go from being with someone, loving them so much, planning marriage and then having your heart broken into a million pieces? How is anyone able to cope with that? I'm only wondering because its happened to me and I'm having difficulty moving on. The most wonderful, amazing person walked into my life and before I knew it, walked out. I'm not a sentimentalist and actually come across as aloof and insensitive, but it crushed me. I was going to marry the guy!--But things never turn out the way you want them to. How can you just get back up and keep going after something like that happens to you? It's devastating and something no one should have to go through. I don't think I ever want to get married or think of marriage ever again. I don't call it bitterness, just being realistic for future reference. I feel like my heart has been stomped on, crushed and beaten down. It's the saddest I've ever felt in my life and I know it isn't true, but I'm the saddest girl on the planet!

I have totally neglected this blog. It is near dead, just barely twitching, so I am hoping to revive it somehow. A lot of time has passed, including two birthday's in my family: my older sister's and my younger brother's. So Happy Birthday Promise and JP! I really wish you both the best and, even though at times I just want to scream at you because you both just infuriate me, I really love you. I hope that this year turns out better than last. Alot has happened since I last updated my blog. We are in the process of getting another place. Mine and Jamie's very own series of misfortunate events unfolded last weekend. Don't really want to get into it as it was a very sad and devastating blow to us but all in all, we are on the move again. I'm sure everyone goes through times when they fall into the depths of despair. I guess that time has come for me but I just keep telling myself its just a bump in the road as we move onward to bigger and better things, I hope. So now we're looking for another place to call home as we have none at the moment. Don't worry honey, we'll get through this! Here's a song for you.

Christmas is coming...

I just wanted to express my excitement about Christmas being so near and really just wanted to put it out there for the world to know! Christmas comes extra early here (usually starting in the "ber" months) and you can't help but get all caught up in the Christmas feel of things. Lani, Jamie and I went out shopping the other day for a tree and Lani and I couldn't stop gushing over the decorations, the ribbons, the Santa dolls, the trees and the beautiful lights. We found the perfect, most lovely fake fir tree I've seen. It was so pretty (and I rarely ever say something is pretty). Dear Jim set the tree facing our window so it can be seen outdoors. I have to say now, every time I come home from work in the evenings, I open the door and its like a wave of Christmas just rushes over you full force. I usually just stand at the front door for a couple of minutes and give out a long sigh as I take in the tree and all its beauty. Now I can't wait to finish the rest of my Christmas decoration shopping. Cookie jars, more lights, candles, snow spray, stockings etc. Sigh!--no its not our tree, but isn't it lovely?

Ho Hum! Another drab Monday. I'm sitting here in front of my lovely computer at work just thinking to myself how horrid Monday's are for me. I still find myself stuck in the weekend's lull so I hate dragging my feet to commence another week-long adventure of poring over my computer. And yet another Saturday night out drinking on my friends birthday. This new club we were at named Alchemy is deeply entangled in a web of lies and deceit. Beware, people of the night!

They had us going with their luring advertisements of hip-hop music being the sole beat for the second floor but they pulled a subtle one on us when midway through our night they suddenly started easing house music in ever so slowly. Before we knew it our cool hip-hop grooves and spanking moves started turning into rhythmic swaying and the pronounced head thumping. Oh, we had them now! I promptly stomped over to where it was all happening and demanded justice. The DJ filled my ears with empty promises of our music of choice and its swift return. Lies I tell you! There were a good many of us shaking our fists in the air trying to boycott house music but to no avail. So here are some pics I shall leave y'all with.

Finally!!!

Although just a temporary fix, we have FINALLY found ourselves a nice little nook in the over populated conglomerate of what is called Las Pinas. We didn't immediately think "Japanese" when we started our long search for THE place but it turned out to be a lovely package deal (along with it being fully furnished) and I'm looking forward to moving in and making a grand exodus from my present house. The feeling of accomplishment is oh so sweet! I'm so happy, excited, and a bit apprehensive, I have to admit. So people, if you're looking for me, I'll be off packing the little Jamie and I own-- and renting a truck for what my daughter owns--and we'll start that lovely drive off into the sunset. I'll try to add some pics in my next post but until then I leave you with the word "Zen" to get the little gears in your brain rolling on how our house would look. I might just invite you to our little housewarming!

A looong weekend...

For several days now Jamie and I have been looking for a house--and not just any house mind you, THE house. We have certain specifications and standards we're looking for when out house-hunting and now I'm kind of wondering if we've set the bar too high. Our ideal house is by no means unreasonable (actually it is very workable) but what makes it unbearably difficult is the fact that it is no package deal. The houses we've looked at have either one or two specifications we require but that's about it, which makes, what would be fun and exciting, an extremely tedious, and time consuming process. (For those of you who know what I'm talking about I applaud your patience because mine was bombed a while ago!) I'm not the kind of person who will settle for second best so I guess I have no one to blame but myself for my fastidious selectiveness.

So I won't be having any work for three days after the weekend and I'm sure you can just guess what I'll be doing for three days straight. I hope I'll still have my head on and my sanity intact.

Friday is always a good reason to smile silly--no work for two days, time with your family and of course time to...PARTY! The very first thing that comes to mind when I sit at my desk on a Friday afternoon is how great a chilled bottle of San Miguel would be. Now for those of you who don't know what that delectable drink could possibly be...to sum it up, it is the premium taste of enjoyment! I don't know why but I, and I'm sure most of the population (well, at least male population), associate beer with the weekend.

Friday + Saturday = BEER!!

And it really is a relaxing thought! I quelsh all notions of beer and its evildoing with relaxing thoughts, like how wonderful it would be to just lay on the beach with a cold beer, or relax out in the patio with friends, or perhaps have a nice family BBQ --alright! throw in laughing men, aprons, and mothers yapping it up with the kids running about and you have a family reunion. I guess I'm just not thinking too far into the night where the bottle suddenly takes a turn for the worst and you have a crazed, laughing guy dancing in the corner, a couple on your parents bed, and kids throwing up into the pool. What a cliche! Its every cheap, high school movie reinvented in your backyard!
Well, being that my teen years are long over, weekends take on a different spin and beer is now my respected friend!
1. We appreciate each others' company.
2. We hold a deep, emotional bond.
3. We see the best in others.
4. We are most willing to love and be loved.

Now with all those great qualities and wonderful attributes, who wouldn't want to be a part of that?

I hate the weather...

The weather today was nothing short of horrific. Braving the winds and the rain is a mere understatement. Going to work proved hellish...and I had to find out the hard way. I was stuck in traffic for a good three hours with Jim at the wheel and there was no way to go back as we just weren't moving.

Seeing an ongoing flood up ahead of us, Jim decided the best course of action at that point was to just step on the gas all the way through it and hope nothing would cut us off. We were on the straight and narrow when suddenly out jumps some little street urchin who decides he'd like to take a dip in the flood while its pouring rain, hence obstructing our free-flow driving. What was going through his mind when he does this I don't know, but suicide was definitely not on the list! Of course, he's dancin' up a storm, happy to be kicking around in two feet of water while, unbeknownst to his joy, Jim is having to suddenly brake. What a wicked little thing!

So water goes in the muffler, smoke belches from the hood and we suddenly putt to a stop. Now all we can do is wait for it to dry out.

I get to work half an hour late. All I can think of now is how long it'll take Jim to get back home. The weather sucks! The flooding wasn't as bad as the pic but I'm sure you get the picture.

Last Saturday it was my baby's birthday and what a bash it was! Now, I'm not a big spender. I'm not the 'shop-till-you-drop' type of person. Sure, once in awhile I go overboard (as Jamie can attest to) but generally I'm level-headed when it comes to spending.

However, Lani's birthday is something I cannot control! I pull out all the stops and really go all out to make sure her birthday is fun and memorable. Seeing her grow so much every year crushes me because I know I have to let go of that 'baby' image a little bit more each time her birthday comes round AND I DON'T WANT TO!!!

Ok. I'm done ranting. As I was saying, her birthday is something I enjoy putting alot of 'ka-ching' into as it only comes once a year. (Of course, I'm just spending, Jamie is doing the shelling out so I'm pretty sure its one-sided.) This is the one day of the year we allow her to do or pick whatever she wants to do. Luckily, she's a low maintenance girl so her demands were few. She did pick her birthday dinner down to the drinks and surprisingly enough won every last game they played (hmm...how'd that happen.).

Her dream job is to be a scientist of all things so one of her many gifts was a microscope and loads of science books. Of course she got her very own secret journal with a black light, an awesome kaleidescope, lots of clothes, havaianas, dolls etc. but those were all pushed in the backburner.

Her dad wanted her to have one toy that they could play with together so he got her a remote controlled helicopter. Now who do you think will enjoy it more?
So her very pink birthday ended with candy raining down on them from her very own, personalized princess pinata. Happy Birthday Lani!!!!

In posting these I would just like to say that narcissism isn't one of my traits. Believe it or not I am, and no joke about it, very unphotogenic (much to the dismay of most of my friends who happen to be artists). Sadly, I wasn't born with a perfect facial structure a camera could capture in its timeless form, so having good pics of me with a decent camera are few and far between. while going through my sisters blog i noticed her once nameless child is now called eryn alisa. promise and toshi, i love you guys and i'd like to say that in posting this i feel i can, in all honesty, use the line that was traditionally and methodically voiced by adults for our pre-spanking stints as kids- "this hurts me more than it hurts you". firstly, eryn sounds like a name that came right straight out of hobbit land and elven woods. (i blame the 'y' in eryn. it really does add that woodland touch which i never cared for) and secondly, it just doesn't go with alisa. gaelic/english and french???

hmmm...imagine an elvish Amelie.

ok. that's it. i'm ready for whatever bashing i'll get in response to this post and knowing you toshi, i'm pretty sure you'll give me a hard time. yes, i know my name selection for my daughter wasn't too bright but go easy on me. i feel i have the right to be opinionated being that i'm the kid's aunt. and just to be clear, my rather strong feelings regarding her name does not, by any means, revert from the fact that she is absolutely beautiful.

alright. so, marty was on a hiatus and, being the world-travelling, jet-setting guy that he is, took his modelling career to a whole new level. yes people, marty IS a model. and not just any old model ('cause really all you need for that is a workable face, a whole lot of make up and an 'i will do you' attitude), but an UNDERWEAR MODEL! oh sure he's done advertisements and pictorials and blah blah blah, but this runway modelling shindig is the shiznit. its not just all about the make up, the glitz and the brightest orange underwear you can find, but its about really connecting with people and relaying to them in your gait, "Hey, its ok if you're ugly, have particularly bad skin and aren't gorgeous like me. These neon pink, sequined thongs along with these derelict arm wraps and spiky choker will look wonderful on you. NOW BUY THE DAMN THING!!!!"

well, that's not to say modelling doesn't have its perks. marty set off to shanghai for an all-expense paid trip for a modelling stint which, judging by the pics, wow!, was...interesting. so, once i get permission, i'll be leaving you with some photos and you be the judge and see if he's got that X factor!
